HREA’M Recordings is proud to present ARCTIC / AIR, a raw ambient guitar solo work from QUIET CLAPPING.

An alias of Jonathan Deasy who has previously released music on MCM, Psoma Psi and Kirigirisu, his new QUIET CLAPPING release for HREA'M follows previous releases under the same name for Sensory Leakage, ANR and Warm Milk Records.

Less influenced by the usual 'Eno School" of ambient, QUIET CLAPPING draws upon the work of Tangerine Dream, Popol Vuh and stark American minimalism.

The two 20 minute guitar works on ARCTIC / AIR were recorded during the winter of 2020 using minimal gear - long jams recorded, edited and processed to remove them from the realms of the instrument as much as possible to create a glacial and immersive listen.

A further foray into solo experimentation from an accomplished musician with an extensive and impressive live jazz and improv background, ARCTIC / AIR is the beautiful result of a musician forced to reevaluate his situation and creative methods due to the realities of working in a bleaker new landscape.
